This thesis presents the design, contruction and automation of a prototype system intended to capture and convert carbon dioxyde to sodium carbonate. The research was concucted in parallel at AMA and Cuba. At AMA preliminary experiments were carried out with carbon dioxide high pressure gas cilinder to estimite further proces parameters while in Cuba a prototype was build. At the universidad de Central de las Villas carbon dioxide was generated by a combustion engine. The exhaust was bubbled through a in house build reactor containing sodium hydroxide.
