The measurements in the canal Ghent-Terneuzen show a remarkable variability of the fouling on the sheet piles. This thesis aims to identify the causes of these differences by correlating physicochemical parameters, orientation as well as industrial activity along the canal with the presence of algae, mussels and tubeworms. Thesis will require data analysis, cartographic techniques and lots of observations in the wild.
