TitleMicroplastic emissie afkomstig van een droogdok
Émissions de microplastiques d’une cale sèche
Subject

Microplastics are an important problem of the 21st century. These plastics can be found in products ranging from beauty products to paint. Marine paint is one of the contributors to microplastic pollution. Ships must visit a dry dock every 3 - 5 years for hull inspection and maintenance. Removing and applying the marine coating creates emissions of microplastics. This makes dry docks an interesting place for research into microplastics. This study investigates the amount of microplastics in the influent and effluent water of a dry dock during certain activities.
